The Encompass Group is partnering with a reputable construction contractor who is looking for an experienced Project Accountant to join the team. This role will oversee all aspects of accounts receivable, including invoicing, collections, customer account management, and financial statements, project budgets, and more. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction accounting, knowledge of lien waivers and payment processes, and exceptional organizational skills to ensure the company maintains a healthy cash flow.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee project financials, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost tracking.
- Prepare and review financial reports, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Process and review purchase orders and subcontractor payments
- Manage the full accounts receivable cycle, including setting up and maintaining customers & jobs in software, generating and sending out invoices, monitoring payment statuses, and reconciling accounts.
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Oversee the preparation and management of lien waivers, release forms, and compliance with state-specific construction payment laws.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
- 5 years in project based accounting, with at least 2 years in the construction industry preferred.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts, progress billing, retainage, and lien laws.
