Certified Peer Specialist
Responsibilities:
- Provide peer support and mentorship to individuals with mental health challenges
- Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to encourage self-advocacy and goal-setting
- Collaborate with treatment teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Facilitate support groups and educational workshops for individuals and their families
- Advocate for the rights and needs of individuals in the mental health system
- Assist individuals in navigating community resources and accessing appropriate services
- Maintain accurate and confidential documentation of client interactions
Skills:
- Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) certification required
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish rapport with diverse populations
- Knowledge of mental health recovery principles and practices
- Familiarity with community resources and support services
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
