Requirements
Summary:
The Materials Supervisor will supervise inventory control, material handling, shipping/receiving, and 3rd party logistics activities within the plant. The Materials Supervisor will ensure shipments are packaged and shipped IAW customer requirements and will be the primary point of contact for all logistics matters.
Responsibilities
- Maintain compliance with company policies and procedures, environment, health, and safety (EHS) requirements, and good housekeeping practices.
- Directly supervise shipping/receiving, material handling, and inventory control employees.
- Supervise daily cycle count process.
- Promote a positive work environment through regular communication with employees and embracing a continuous improvement mindset.
- Ensure production lines are stocked with necessary raw materials and components as needed.
- Ensure off-site warehouse is kept organized and appropriately maintained.
- Keep MRO inventory appropriately stocked and design and/or order dunnage as required.
- Maintain Daily Shipping Log.
- Manage forklift and delivery van fleet maintenance and inspections.
- Ensure materials are shipped in accordance with the requirements of the customer and/or Department of Defense by complying with Technical Publications, US Military and Federal standards, and all other standards as required.
- Coordinate shipping and logistics activities with shipping broker(s), customer specified shipping agents, and Entwistle Contracts department.
- Lead Start-of-Shift meeting daily for direct reports.
- Participate in daily SQDC/Gemba walk.
- Attend weekly Production Meetings and disseminate relevant information to team.
- Maintain daily balancing for direct reports in GSS ERP system.
- Review and approve direct report PTO requests while ensuring work area can run effectively to meet daily needs.
- Responsible for hiring, training, reviewing, and disciplining employees as necessary.
- Other duties as required.

Requirements
- 3 years of experience as a lead or supervisor in an inventory or logistics role.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, occasionally stressful environment with shifting priorities, while maintaining a positive and constructive attitude and adhering to the previously stated Duties and Responsibilities.
- Able to clearly communicate verbally and in writing it English. Must be able to clearly and concisely deliver instructions to team.
- Must be able to spot problems within the manufacturing process quickly and take appropriate action to rectify. Must be able to make decisions quickly, under pressure, after careful assessment of all available information.
