What are the responsibilities and job description for the Housing Stability Coach position at The EPICENTER?
The Housing Stability Coach supports households experiencing housing instability by empowering participants to achieve housing stability and self-sufficiency through a comprehensive, multigenerational approach. This role works with individuals and families to identify their unique needs and priorities and supports them in achieving their goals through coaching, resource connection, and collaboration with community partners.
This position is grant-funded by the United Way of Central Maryland, up for renewal after one year, and subject to termination if funding is not awarded.
The Housing Stability Coach reports to the EPICENTER at Aberdeen Associate Director of Youth Programming.

Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in human services, social work, or a related field preferred
- Minimum 3 years of experience supporting individuals experiencing housing instability
- Strong computer skills and experience managing client records
- Flexible schedule including some evenings or non-traditional hours as needed
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to schools and community sites
Primary Responsibilities:
40% Assessment and Planning
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to understand each participant’s strengths, needs, barriers, and goals.
- Collaborate with participants to develop individualized goal plans with actionable steps.
- Monitor and evaluate progress, adjusting plans as needed to ensure success.
40% Coaching and Support
- Empower participants through coaching techniques and motivational interviewing.
- Provide connections to housing, employment, financial wellness, education, health, and other services.
- Maintain regular in-person contact (80% in-person, 20% remote), in schools and community settings.
- Provide education and support on topics such as budgeting, parenting, and life skills.
- Facilitate skill-building workshops and support groups.
10% Collaboration
- Coordinate services with community partners, landlords, and other stakeholders.
- Advocate alongside participants to ensure access to necessary support.
- Represent the program through outreach to schools, agencies, and community groups.
10% Compliance and Documentation
- Ensure compliance with policies, regulations, and grant requirements.
- Maintain accurate and timely records and reports for funders and management.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
