Purpose:
To implement, oversee, and ensure accounting standards are maintained for the smooth financial operations of the church. Must be able to maintain utmost confidentiality of all church and parishioner information.
Hours:
12-14 hours per week in the office spread over 2 days
Pay:
$18 to $20 per hour
Vacation:
Time off without pay would be available as agreed to by the Rector and Treasurer.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Receive, verify, deposit, post pledges and contributions from worship services
- Create and send verified semi-annual and year-end pledge contribution statements
- Enter new pledges and maintain accurate records
- Point of Contact for all contribution correspondence
- Receive, verify, deposit all donations/reimbursements to the Church accounts
- Provide guidance on matters concerning payments of invoices and/or reimbursements
- Receive and pay approved invoices
- Receive and pay approved reimbursements from the Church accounts
- Maintain/Archive hardcopy records and files
- Point of Contact for all accounts payable correspondence
- Facilitate the timely submission of benefit-related enrollments, compensation adjustments, and other administrative changes to the diocesan Director of People Services and Operations, and administrator of PayCom system
- Act as the liaison between the church and the diocese to ensure seamless coordination of payroll benefits administration
- Enter hourly employees work hours and maintain hardcopy time keeping files
- Create payroll reports from PayCom, enter semi-monthly payroll into General Ledger
- Maintain W-9s for contract labor, and issue 1099s at year end, as required
- Coordinate Worker’s Comp annual audit with the diocese
- Responsible for the administration and maintenance of Fund Accounting tool (Realm Accounting) used at the Church
- Responsible for the creation and maintenance of Chart of Accounts within Realm
- Review month-end financial statements and reconcile all the Church financial account(s)
- Provide the financial input to the Diocesan Annual Reports, Diocesan Parochial Report
- Maintain bookkeeping records for all temporary and long-term restricted accounts
- Perform backups and close accounts at end of each year end
- Monitor all revenues, expenses, and contribution records for accuracy
- Enter and maintain Budget annually, as provided by the Financial Committee
- Analyze income and expenses in comparison to budget; notify Rector and Treasurer of any budgetary concerns
- Prepare financial reports, as needed/requested
- Attend Finance Committee meetings
- Attend continuing education seminars to maintain current financial information
- Manage the maintenance of the Realm financial tool for the Church
- Prepare and maintain forms, processes and procedures for the efficient and effective financial/bookkeeping needs of the Church
- Other duties as assigned
- Demonstrate competency of Fund Accounting principles
- Proficiency with office software such as Microsoft Office 365
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn new tasks and functions
- Ability to learn new skills, processes, and technologies as needed
