Four years of corporate retail buying/planning, allocation and inventory experience is required. Solid background in corporate sales planning, negotiating and financial reporting is required. A specified area of buying experience may be preferred by the hiring manager.
Or
Bachelor's degree plus two years of corporate retail buying/planning, allocation and inventory experience is required. Solid background in corporate sales planning, negotiating and financial reporting with ability to drive sales results is required. A specified area of buying experience may be preferred by the hiring manager.

Major Duties
Buys specific merchandise categories under the direction of a higher-level buyer. Collaborates with planner and replenisher/allocator to meet plan.
Identifies and recommends new products and business opportunities. Negotiates product availability, specifications, distribution, delivery and price. May participate in tabloid and promotion planning process to support alignment of in store and online merchandise assortment.
Manages vendor performance to maximize profitability and achieve financial objectives. Summarizes and communicates information to store operations. Research and resolve customer and supplier inquiries.
Analyzes trends, sales data and economic conditions to develop strategies, business plans, forecasts and open-to-buy and increase sales, margin and profit through competitive pricing and exit strategies (regular, promo, clearance).
May train or provide guidance to assistant buyers.
Performs other duties as assigned.
