We are currently seeking a detail-oriented Data & Analytics Analyst Intern to join the Member Services team in our Washington, DC office. for Summer of 2025. The internship requires the available to work up to 40 hours per week, at minimum 32 hours per week during the summer with 5 hours per week devoted to professional development with opportunities for shadowing, mentoring, and training with successful professionals. The internship will commence on Wednesday, June 11th, 2025 and runs until Friday, August 15th, 2025. This position will report to the Data & Information Program Manager. This is a hybrid role requiring you to come into the DC office at least 2 days per week.


WHAT YOU WILL GAIN | POSITION OVERVIEW

The Data & Analytics Internship program combines hands-on mentorship, professional development, and real-world projects to help launch a career and gain professional experience as a Project Management professional. The Project Management Intern will assist the ELC Member Services Department by support critical data initiatives that impact programming, engagement tracking, and organizational strategy. This intern will help ensure the integrity of our member and company data, track engagement trends, and support the development of reports that influence decision-making across departments. Our Data & Analytics internship program will be a 10-week where they will receive full-time on the job education that will prepare them for On-the-Job Training (OJT). The intern will play a key role in organizing data, preparing analysis, managing communications and report outs, and supporting community-building efforts across platforms. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to learn essential in project management, data analysis, analytics structure and techniques.


WHAT YOU WILL DO | ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & KEY OUTCOMES

Our interns are encouraged to bring fresh ideas to the table and are quickly entrusted with foundational responsibilities:

Data Management & Cleanup

  • Conduct annual cleanup of the member database
  • Identify and merge duplicate records (member and company profiles)
  • Update company information using Fortune 500/1000/Global 500 list
  • Validate and enrich member profiles through research (LinkedIn, company websites, etc.)

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Track member career updates (promotions, transitions, board appointments) to support quarterly Moment of the Movement reports
  • Monitor engagement levels for the 2023, 2024, and 2025 member class
  • Analyze participation in events, contributions, and thought leadership roles
  • Assist with synthesizing and reporting data for CBN and Board Director Summit

Project Coordination & Management

  • Assist the department head and project managers in organizing and coordinating various events and programs.
  • Collaborate with the team to develop project plans, timelines, and budgets.
  • Track project progress, identify potential risks, and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain project documentation, including meeting minutes, action items, and status reports.
  • Support the coordination of various programs aimed at engaging professionals
  • Assist in developing program schedules, coordinating activities, and securing necessary resources.
  • Communicate with program participants, ensuring they have the required information and materials.
  • Monitor program progress, collect feedback, and assist in evaluating program effectiveness.
  • Produce deliverables (e.g., slide decks, reports, spreadsheets, marketing materials, etc.)
  • Create and execute project proposals and plans in a timely manner.
  • Participate in project team meetings and provide status updates, as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with the team on various projects related to data.
  • Track project progress, milestones, risks, and issues.

Special Projects & Operations Support

  • Assist in preparing the Class of 2026 new member photo book and tracking applications submissions
  • Organize Member Services inbox and assist with inbox analytics
  • Map cross-functional workflows and recommend process improvements

General Duties

  • Contribute to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adhere to department policies, procedures, quality standards, and safety standards.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced office environment, demonstrating a flexible approach with short deadlines.
  • Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality improvement.

  • Support a seamless information sharing workflow within the Member Service department and the overall organization.

WHO ARE YOU | EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & CREDENTIALS

  • Must be a Undergraduate or Graduate student enrolled in an accredited College or University at either a rising Junior, Senior or recent graduate with a GPA of 3.00 or above. The student should be pursuing/have pursued a degree in Data Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a relevant academic field.
  • Must be available to work on-site at our downtown D.C. office 2x per week at minimum.
  • Passionate about data analysis, project management, leadership development, and organizational growth.
  • Previous experience with using data analysis tools (Excel, PowerBI, etc.) preferred.
  • Previous experience working on team-based projects preferred, but not required.
  • Comfortable with large datasets.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP, basic formulas).
  • Familiarity with CRM & project management tools (Asana, Salesforce, Monday.com or similar).
  • Analytical mindset with a curiosity for patterns and insights.
  • Research skills and the ability to verify data through multiple sources
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
  • Advanced computer skills in Adobe, Google Workspace, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced environment and effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously; coordinating resources and ensuring scheduled goals are met.
  • Ability to effectively interact with various levels of management is necessary.
  • Ability to demonstrate professional, positive, and approachable attitude, and discretion, and sensitivity in handling confidential and highly sensitive information.
  • Ability to make decisions and resolve problems effectively - seek out information and data to evaluate, prioritize, and formulate the best solution or practice.
  • Ability to multi-task, work independently and as part of a team, share workloads, and deal with sudden shifts in project priorities and embrace the learning process through mistakes.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Work is performed in an interior office setting which has no adverse environmental conditions expected.
  • Hybrid Role requiring 2 days per week in our D.C. office and requires limited travel in the field.
  • Work involves frequently sitting for extended periods of time, frequently talking or hearing, frequently operating a computer, and occasional light physical effort (lifting, pushing, pulling, carrying, etc.) objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
  • Work requires frequent ability to comprehend direction and adhere to policies or established procedures, ability to use logic to make sound decisions, ability to interpret and analyze data, ability to gather and organize information for a wide variety of audiences, ability to read and write a variety of materials, and ability to adapt well in the face of workplace stress.
