What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Services Representative position at The Eye Associates?
Description: The Eye Associates, an affiliate of Eye Health America, is a growing, multi-specialty ophthalmology practice. Our focus is on excellence in patient care and creating an exceptional customer/patient experience. Hours vary depending on the doctor’s schedules; Must be available Monday through Friday between 8:00am - 5:00pm. Opening and closing shifts rotate. *Overtime may be required. Must be willing to travel to our different clinic locations if needed.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and check-in patients in an orderly and professional manner.
- Scan patients’ insurance cards and driver’s licenses.
- Document all patient demographic information.
- Collect proper authorizations and/or referrals from patients.
- Handle patient check-out processes, including processing charges, collecting fees, and scheduling next appointments.
- Monitor past-due accounts and collect payments.
- Maintain and balance a personal cash drawer daily.
- Evaluate chart data for completeness and accuracy.
