Would you like to help someone improve their vision or even help them regain their sight? We have an exciting opportunity and need for energetic, enthusiastic, flexible, and detail-oriented individuals to help us deliver the “Gift of Sight” to vision-impaired patients in need.
The Eye Bank of Kentucky is seeking individuals to assist us. As an Eye Recovery Technician, you would contribute to the recovery of donated human ocular tissue for transplantation, medical education, and research. Technicians are responsible for the aseptic recovery of ocular tissue from cadaveric donors on an on-call, as needed basis
The Eye Bank of Kentucky serves the state of Kentucky, four counties in southern Indiana, and two counties in West Virginia.
Qualified applicants will need to meet the following education and experience guidelines:
Required:
- Possess a valid driver’s license
- Knowledge of medical terminology and human anatomy
- Knowledge of sterile and surgical techniques
- Be detail oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- (3) 12-hour shift minimum per month
- Able to arrive at our Louisville or Lexington office within 30 mins of being dispatched
- Must be available for weekends nights, and holiday shifts.
If you are hired, you will be employed as a PRN, not a full time employee. The Eye Bank of Kentucky responds to and recovers ocular tissue 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
