Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and organized Part-Time Office Clerk to join our Ophthalmology clinic in Champaign. The Office Clerk will play a crucial role in maintaining the smooth operation of our front office by providing administrative support and excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Answering phone calls: Professionally and courteously handle incoming calls, directing inquiries to the appropriate staff members and scheduling appointments.
- Appointment Scheduling: Manage the appointment calendar, ensuring efficient scheduling and minimizing patient wait times.
- Referral Management: Process incoming and outgoing referrals, ensuring accurate and timely communication with referring providers and patients.
- Prescription Submission: Submit prescription requests to pharmacies, verifying accuracy and following up on any issues.
- Inventory Management: Assist with maintaining inventory levels of office supplies and clinical materials, ordering new supplies as needed.
- Billing and Coding: Support the billing process by entering patient information, verifying insurance coverage, and coding procedures accurately.
- Administrative Tasks: Perform various administrative duties, such as filing, data entry, and maintaining patient records.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent: A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Customer Service Experience: Previous experience in a customer service role is preferred.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic medical record (EMR) systems is desired.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills are required.
- Attention to Detail: A high level of attention to detail is crucial for accuracy in data entry and administrative tasks.
Work Schedule
- Part-Time: Monday through Friday, 9 AM - 1 PM (20 hours per week).
