What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ophthalmic Technician position at The Eye Institute?
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician to join our team and support our ophthalmologists in delivering exceptional care to our patients. As a vital part of our practice, you’ll play an essential role in conducting initial exams, gathering patient histories, administering eye tests, and educating patients on corrective lens usage. You’ll also be key in ensuring smooth and efficient office operations by assisting with back-office tasks.

Knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience required for the position:
- Graduation from high school or equivalent.
- Two years Medical Technician experience or Certified Ophthalmic Technician or Medical Technologist preferred.
- Must possess some general medical knowledge including diseases and medications that are pertinent to patient care in ophthalmology.
- Great attention to detail.
- Knowledge of HIPAA policies and regulations.
- Experience performing OCT & Visual fields.
- Experience with EMR.
