Job Description: FRONT DESK RECEPTIONIST
Department: Front Desk
Reports To: General Manager, Assistant Manager, Front Desk Manager & Office Manager
Purpose and Scope:
The Front Desk Staff Member will greet and direct members, guests, and staff as they enter the facility while providing watch/control of the front entrance of the facility. This position will provide assistance to members’ requests and inquiries about gym operations & policies, help maintain a clean front desk area, and perform various administrative duties as directed by the General Manager or other supervisor.
Major Responsibilities:
- Greet each member and guest as they walk in or out of the facility to create a friendly and positive environment.
- Check each member into the facility using proper check-in procedures.
- Monitor check-ins to identify delinquent or otherwise problematic accounts and notify supervisor.
- Ensures that guests with appointments are properly directed to sales consultants.
- Answers phone promptly and professionally.
- Addresses caller requests and/or takes appropriate messages.
- Registers all telephone inquiries using proper procedures.
- Responds to member requests, questions, and concerns.
- Register Kids Club Childcare and Group Exercise Class reservations as needed.
- Registers tennis program reservations as needed.
- Registers tennis lesson & tennis clinic attendance and charges each appropriately.
- Distributes towels and other materials as needed.
- Processes pro shop sales.
- Restock inventory of sales items.
- Assists members in making club membership payments.
- Maintains neat appearance and wears proper uniform attire.
- Attends all staff meetings as directed.
- Cleans and maintains the front desk area.
- Follows proper opening and closing procedures.
- Logs all maintenance concerns that are reported.
- Follows and reports any safety concerns.
- Notifies management of gym incidents that require incident reports.
- Works when scheduled and adheres to company attendance policies.
- Performs other reasonable work assignments as directed by the General Manager or other supervisor -- this includes light cleaning and picking up of weights.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Exceptional customer service skills -- able to interact in a positive and professional way with members, guests, and co-workers
- Customer service background preferred
- Punctuality and reliability
- Positive mental attitude
