What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Practice Administrator position at The Family Doctor?
Immediate opening for a full time Medical Practice Administrator in a busy and well established primary care office. Who is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a medical practice, ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of all aspects of the business. This role involves managing staff, implementing policies and procedures, overseeing financial operations, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, organizational abilities, and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care. Strong customer service background preferred. English proficiency is necessary. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and attention to detail.
Candidates must perform front and back office duties
Minimum of 5 years experience REQUIRED.
Must have knowledge of office equipment (computers, fax/copier, EMR, printers, Word/Excel, label printer, etc)
Duties will include, but not limited to:
-Phlebotomy
-Verification of patient insurance
-Answering multi-line phones
-Schedule appointments
-Referrals to specialists/tests, Authorizations using third party sites (Optum, Availity, eviCore, New Century)
-Proficiency with medical office software, EHR systems, Microsoft Office Suite, Insurance Portals
-Call backs as directed (blood work results, pharmacy refills/new medications, patient concerns, etc)
-Handle patient complaints and resolve issues as needed
-Contract Management and Insurance Reconciliation
-Ensure staff compliance with company policies, procedures, and healthcare regulations
-Foster a positive working environment and promote teamwork
