Event Coordinator
The Farm – a gathering place is an award-winning Event Center located in Candler, NC. We are a destination venue offering clients event spaces, on-site catering and bar service, plus lodging in cabins and cottages – all here on the property. While our primary business at The Farm is weddings, we are expanding our private and corporate events as well as launching some of our own programming. In 2022 we will host one hundred events: with our busiest months from April through December.
The Event Coordinator will join our coordination team which is the hub of our business. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in meeting planning/project management and customer service and can hit the ground running.
Our Event Coordinator is the following:
- Proactive Planner: Takes ownership of the relationship with each client and is always on the pulse of activity – proactively understanding the clients’ needs and keeping them on track ensuring a successful event.
- Trusted Advisor and Partner: Monitors wedding and meeting trends/assesses best practices in order to make recommendations to clients.
- Grace Under Pressure: Has an innate sense of decorum. Knows what to say and what not to say and can coach others to do the same. Maintains a steady and calm presence in all situations.
- Approachable: Able to establish a warm rapport with clients as well as their family, friends and colleagues.
- Rigorous Conceptual Ability: Able to keep up with the important details of each event and see around the corner to avoid pitfalls.
- Creative Problem Solver: Listens to define root issues and shapes pragmatic solutions.
Our Event Coordinator does the following:
- Exudes “I’ve Got This” Event Management by coordinating for all details with client regarding event implementation.
- Develops floorplans, timelines & use of decor within The Farm’s proven best practices.
- Directs day-of-wedding activities for The Farm team to ensure adherence with event plans. Sets realistic expectations and delivers on them; brainstorms to find ways to say “yes” to client requests
- Liaises with client’s vendors to ensure timely implementation. Communicates with The Farm team about catering, billing etc. to ensure smooth customer experience.
- Ensures clear communication: Ensures client information is up to date including notes that will assist colleagues in the support of Event.
- Upholds Farm Image: Resolves client concerns within defined boundaries and escalates issues as appropriate.
Experience and Skills
- Event planning/Project management - At least 2 years
- Commitment to quality
- Efficient time management
- Technical skills – Microsoft office, Google suite, proficiency in Triple Seat a plus
- Will be working evenings, weekends and holidays
- Physically fit with good stamina for physical tasks such as moving and lifting furniture and standing for extended periods of time.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
