MVLE is hiring for a Program Manager of Employment Services in the Chantilly, VA, and Springfield, VA offices.

Wage/Salary: $52,000.00 to $68,619.20 per year 

 

OVERVIEW

As Program Manager of Employment Services, you will lead a team dedicated to creating opportunities for individuals with disabilities to find independence through community-based social activities, supported employment, and customized skills training. 

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Leadership: Oversee, direct, and organize the work of the Employment Development Specialists, Program Coordinators, Assistant Program Coordinators, and DSPs for the Employment Services and Community Services program.  Ensure staff members receive appropriate training and development.  Establish and monitor staff performance and development goals, set objectives in line with MVLE’s strategic vision, establish priorities, and conduct annual performance appraisals.

 

  • Training, Supervision, & Mentoring: Oversee scheduling, staff training, and regulatory responsibilities for the organization’s employment and community engagement services. Provide appropriate supervision and training, modeling, mentoring, support, or counseling to direct and support professionals regarding appropriate work attitudes, work skills, specific individual service delivery, and other duties in assigned program areas. Meet with the Director on an established and as-needed basis to discuss workforce and program services delivery issues. 

 

  • Program Development: Research, develop, and implement new and innovative programming that aligns with MVLE’s mission, vision, and values. Work in conjunction with the Compliance and Quality department to assist with ongoing program development. Assist in developing community education and/or program outreach activities.  Oversee matriculation into and out of programs. Develop and implement strategies to enhance employment opportunities for adults with disabilities. Design and implement training programs for participants that focus on skills development and job readiness. 

 

  • Liaison & Outreach: Assist in establishing and maintaining positive liaison roles with families, group homes, local school systems, intellectual disabilities service boards, and community access sites. Assist in developing community education and/or program outreach activities

 

  • Compliance & Reporting: Assist in oversight of compliance with regulatory requirements.  Attend individual meetings and coordinate schedules with the other members of the program services team. Interface with other team members to improve individual service and program outcomes.  Responsible for datakeeping with outcome measures.  Audit individual files to ensure regulatory compliance and accurate recordkeeping of service delivery. Audit sites for regulatory, procedural, and policy compliance ensuring that DSPs maintain Human Rights standards, Health and Safety standards, and recordkeeping standards following State Licensure, Medicaid, DARS, and CARF.    Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of employment placements and community activities, making adjustments as necessary to improve participant outcomes.  Lead continuous improvement initiatives, applying best practices in employment services.


Required Education and Job Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree, or college-level courses in human services, behavior management, psychology, or related fields is preferred. 
  • A minimum of five years of progressive experience working with persons with developmental, physical, or other related disabilities is required. 
  • Three years of experience supervising direct service staff. 
  • Three years of knowledge of Medicaid regulations, state licensure regulations, 
  • DARS and CARF are required. 
  • Must possess a current driving license with fewer than -6 points.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong understanding of the challenges and opportunities related to the care of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Proven leadership abilities and experience managing a diverse team.
  • Commitment to the philosophy of person-centered services.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
