Step into the shoes of our mascot and bring the excitement to life at the Florida State Fair! You’ll entertain, interact, and delight our guests with your high-energy performances, making sure everyone has a blast.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as a part-time, costumed performer during the 2025 Florida State Fair.
- Act as a brand ambassador for the Florida State Fair while properly representing the organization in a professional manner at all times.
- Maintain an animated personality with good interpersonal communication skills and creativity.
- Create memorable experiences by greeting fans, energizing our guests and more.
- Help with the creation of skits and content for social channels.
- Maintain effective working relationships with community members of all ages as well as with the Florida State Fairgrounds staff.
QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or equivalent. Previous mascot, and/or live performance experience desired, prior experience as brand ambassador helpful.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Must be available to work during the Florida State Fair, February 8th through the 19th.
- Enthusiastic individual with a passion for fun, family-friendly entertainment and events.
- Team player who enjoys interacting with groups of all ages.
- Must be in good health with the ability to wear and perform in mascot costume within appropriate performance guidelines.
- Ability and willingness to work in both indoor and outdoor settings in sometimes adverse weather conditions.
- Access to personal transportation to travel to the Florida State Fairgrounds, as needed.
- Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced and sometimes unpredictable event environment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Due to costume restrictions, candidate must be between 5’6” - 5’11” and weigh between 125 lbs. - 200 lbs.
- Must be able to lift and carry costume and materials as necessary.
- Must be able to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, and occasionally lift or move (more than 50 pounds).
- Environmental elements include some exposure to outdoor wetness or humidity
