The Ford Field & River Club, founded in 1989, is a full-service gated community and country club located in the low country just outside of Savannah. The Ford Field & River Club is an 1,800-acre property with a maximum of 400 resident members. The Club has a signature Pete Dye championship 18 hole golf course that was completely renovated in 2013, three har-tru tennis courts, four pickleball courts, a 6,000 square foot Wellness facility, a full Spa facility, a main Clubhouse of 35,000 square feet, a 22 stall Equestrian facility with twelve miles of riding trails, a 28 Boat slip Marina, a Shooting club that offers bird as well as clay shooting, two swimming pools, Lake Dye restaurant, a two acre organically sustainable farm with our own bee hives, Henry Ford’s original residence that contains five sleeping rooms and banquet facilities, and a Residential Sales Office.

The Ford Field & River Club is representative of the history of the Low Country from its majestic oaks along the winding banks of the Ogeechee River to the grand house rebuilt by Henry Ford overlooking the Ogeechee. As the current steward of that history, the ARB and POA must manage and preserve the beauty of this place and respect its rich architectural history and setting. The POA created the ARB and adopted the Guidelines so that development can be focused on preserving these priorities.
The Ford’s POA/ARB department is currently seeking candidates for a Director of Association Management. The Director of Association Management reports directly to the General Manager. Under the General Managers supervision, the position is responsible for the following:
JOB SUMMARY:
The Director of Association & Architectural Review will work closely with the property owners during the three periods of ownership: (i) lot ownership, (ii) the home planning and construction process and (iii) post construction maintenance and compliance. In managing the POA’s responsibilities the Director of Association Management will work closely with the POA Board, the Ford staff, the ARB, third party contractors, architects, engineers, vendors, suppliers, utility providers and governmental authorities. The Director of Association Management will report to the General Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Director of Association & Architectural Review specific duties are to include, but not be limited to:
  • Acquire knowledge of all Association Governing Documents, Rules and Regulations and general legal requirements of a community association.
  • Assure that the policies, resolutions, and goals of the POA Board are conducted.
  • Provide the necessary coordination and communication between property owners and the association to ensure that community wide standards as defined by our guidelines are being adhered to.
  • Maintain an elevated level of effective communication/knowledge sharing with club members, staff and the POA Board.
  • Assist the property owners to the purpose and contents of the governing documents including the Declaration of Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions and By-Laws.
  • Coordinate as needed education campaign to achieve membership support for programmatic changes.
  • Working with property owners on non-construction and non-ARB issues, i.e. billings and payments, maintenance and upkeep, covenant and rule violations, rental agreements, security, etc.
  • Supervise and coordinating major improvements to the Ford infrastructure, i.e. roads and drainage structures.
  • Work with all outside the gate property interests, i.e. Georgia DOT, the City of Richmond Hill, utility companies, real estate agents, closing attorneys, mortgage providers, title examiners, architects, engineers, contractors, arborists and other service providers.
  • Maintain all property records including, but not limited to, subdivision plats, planning and zoning files, utility records, lot improvement plans and approvals, variance requests and approvals, ARB submissions and approvals, etc.
  • Work closely with CFO to develop annual operations and capital budgets.
  • Adhere to annual operation budgets and provides timely information to the General Manager and CFO on any significant variances or potential issues.
  • Improving the communications with owners and staff regarding Capital Improvements and the status of ongoing projects.
  • Perform regular cash forecasting of the operational and capital needs of the Association.
  • Maintain all property records including, but not limited to, subdivision plats, planning and zoning files, utility records, lot improvement plans and approvals, variance requests and approvals, ARB submissions and approvals, etc.
  • Assure builder, contractor, supplier, vendor, etc. compliance with Ford rules and regulations.
  • Oversee timely and accurate billings and collections.
  • Oversee and reviewing payments on behalf of the POA.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND QUALIFIATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, residential construction, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience as a builder or a community association manager, preferably within a private gated community or club.
  • Professional Community Association Manager (PCAM) certification desirable
  • Proficient with MS Office, and Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. Deep understanding of home and landscaping/hardscape designs, plats, and architectural requirements.
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Strong and effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Positive, accomplishment driven individual with a commitment to excellence.
  • Ability to manage several tasks simultaneously; maintain composure when dealing with stressful situations; absolute confidentiality required.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ensures that all members, guests, co-workers, as well as outside stakeholders such as contractors and architects, are treated in a friendly and respectful manner in accordance with the standards of excellence of The Ford Field & River Club & Association.
  • Assists in other departments and performs additional related duties as required.
  • Understands and follows policies and procedures of the department and The Ford Field & River Club and provides guidance in these areas to subordinates.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Standing, stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling. Lifts twenty-five pounds occasionally up to fifty pounds. Vision must be correctable to read and write. Hearing must be sufficient to understand conversation on the telephone in a noisy environment. Must have hand usage to complete forms, use keyboard and mouse and other office equipment. Irregular hours to include nights, weekends, and holidays are to be expected.
