Buyer - Tymetal Corp.
Tymetal Corp., located in Greenwich, NY, seeks a self-motivated, detail oriented individual to source new suppliers, actively engage in negotiations, place orders and manage ongoing vendor relationships. Our Buyer has a wide range of responsibilities, all requiring a sense of urgency to support and service the needs of the Tymetal team. Responsibilities of our Buyer:
- Research and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, product selection, customer service and reliability
- Obtain price quotations and negotiate pricing, payment terms and delivery options.
- Assist Sales and Technical Service by obtaining prices of purchased parts/supplies necessary for their projects.
- Monitor inventory levels of purchased items, including raw materials, re-ordering as needed.
- Create and maintain accurate purchasing and inventory documentation.
- Expedite deliveries as needed and work to resolve any issues regarding product quality, delivery, etc. in a timely manner.
Qualifications of our Buyer:
- Bachelor degree in a related field OR Associates degree and two years of purchasing experience preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong customer service approach.
- Ability to multi-task in an environment with constant interruptions.
- Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required, ERP experience preferred.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
