Currently I have an opening for a Scientist located in West Point, PA. Details for the position are as follows:
Job Description:
- We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual to join our Neuroscience drug discovery team.
- The successful candidate will support our drug discovery programs by executing in vitro assays under the direction of senior staff members.
- This role requires a strong background in Biology, Pharmacology, or a related discipline, along with hands-on laboratory experience.
- Execute in vitro assays to support Neuroscience drug discovery programs.
- Develop and perform cell-based assays using various formats such as immunoassay, Western blot, real-time quantitative qPCR, and immunofluorescence techniques.
- Maintain and culture mammalian cells.
- Utilize molecular biology techniques including transfection, RNA, and protein extraction.
- Process in vivo samples for downstream pharmacodynamic endpoints.
- Work in a BSL2 laboratory setting.
- Analyze data using curve fitting software (GraphPad Prism) and maintain records in electronic lab notebooks.
- PhD is overqualified! Bachelors or master’s graduates with 2-5 years of experience preferably within the pharma/biotech industry performing cell-based assays, mammalian cell culture, and knowledge within Neuroscience. Experience with Parkinson’s disease and Alzheimer’s disease, with a focus on lysosomal biology is a plus!
Technical Information:
- Pay: $40-53 hourly, depending on experience level
- Onsite, M-F, 8am-5pm
- 12-month contract with potential for extension or conversion
