FULL-TIME BAKER’S ASSISTANT

We are looking for a Full-Time Lead Baker to work directly with of our French Head Baker, with 20 years of experience and expertise to benefit from, as well as our Head Chef.
The French Kitchen is a unique all-in-one experience with our authentic French Bakery, Cooking School, Café, and Market. We bake everything from scratch using only quality ingredients – a difference you can taste! We not only survived a pandemic but thrived! We are busier than ever and expanded to include a market of chef-prepared baked goods. Responsibilities:
- Assist in making quality breads and pastries using various ovens.
- Assemble dough and dough-based savory items (i.e. quiches, friands, puff pastries, etc.)
- Able to meet time guidelines while working under pressure.
- Maintain and enforce a clean work area.
- Handle and move ingredients, tools, pans, etc. as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
- Lead Baker's Assistants.
Skills:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in basic baking or pastry technique required.
- Experience with high-volume production is highly desired.
- Knowledge of laminated dough is mandatory
- Knowledge of French Baking or Cooking is a plus.
- Must be able to work in a standing position for long periods (up to 8 hours).
- Must be physically able to push, pull, carry, and lift 50-150lbs.
- Must adhere to food safety laws and standards while preparing products.
- Ability to read and speak English proficiently; Bilingual in French is a plus, but not mandatory.
Schedule: with 30 minutes breaks
- Mon - Off
- Tue - 2:00am to 10:00am
- Wed - 2:00am to 10:00am
- Thu - 2:00am to 10:30am
- Fri - 2:00am to 11:00am
- Sat - 2:00am to 11:00am
- Sun - Off
Hours will vary depending on events and holidays.
Payrate:
- $20 per hour Credit Card Tips (adds approx. $2.50-3/hour; based on hours worked).
