Schedule :
Monday - Thursday 7:30am-5pm, Friday 7:30am-2pm (In Office All Week)
PURPOSE:
The Estimator is responsible for accurately calculating the total cost of construction projects by thoroughly analyzing project plans, specifications and related documentation. This includes determining expenses associated with materials, labor and equipment. The Estimator will solicit and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors, assess potential risks and collaborate closely with Project Managers, Engineers and other key stakeholders to ensure the delivery of precise and competitive bids.
As a key player in the pre-construction process, the Estimator manages and follows up on bids, maintaining pricing accuracy and market competitiveness. This role is in close partnership with the Business Development team to help secure new projects and foster strong client relationships.
Beyond core estimating responsibilities, the Estimator is also expected to support the company’s broader strategic initiatives. This includes identifying and promoting new business opportunities to drive revenue growth and enhance the company’s presence within the industry.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects in the industrial sector including, but not limited to, warehouses, food distribution centers and cold storage facilities.
- Review and analyze construction drawings, specifications and related documents to accurately define the scope of work and project requirements.
- Develop comprehensive bid proposals, budgets and preliminary schedules that align with client expectations and overall project objectives.
- Support the preparation of project timelines and coordinate closely with the project management team to promote seamless execution and successful delivery.
- Continuously monitor market trends, labor rates and material costs to maintain
- accurate, up-to-date and competitive estimates.
- Foster effective communication with suppliers, subcontractors and internal teams regarding both current and upcoming projects.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings and conduct site visits to gather essential information, identify potential risks and assess constructability challenges.
- Follow up on bid proposals to procure the projects
- Work with Ready Mix Companies and other vendors to acquire the best possible pricing available.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3 plus years of experience in estimating industrial or commercial construction projects.
- In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, building systems, and industry best practices.
- Proficient in estimating software and tools with exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a strategic mindset and the capacity to deliver creative, cost-effective solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across project teams, clients and stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously while meeting strict deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
