We currently have a career opportunity available for an experienced Fine Dining Restaurant Host- Hostess / Café Attendant
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Welcome guests to the restaurant
· Provide accurate wait times and monitor waiting lists
· Manage reservations
· Escort customers to assigned dining or bar areas
· Provide menus and announce Waiter/Waitress’s name
· Greet customers upon their departure
· Coordinate with wait staff about available seating options
· Maintain a clean reception area
· Cater to guests who require extra attention (e.g. children, elderly)
· Answer incoming calls and address customers’ queries
· Assist wait staff as needed
Café Attendant
Greet customers including answering phones and directing customer inquiries to appropriate party.
· Handle cash transactions between customer and retail store.
· Answer routine billing questions/issues from customers.
· Receive and process all payments according to standard procedures.
· Stock products.
· Ring up item using Micros POS.
· Clean & maintain store, displays, equipment.
· Processes credit and debit cards and room charges.
· Communicate orders with supervisor / manager.
· Count money back to customer in an accurate and concise manner.
· Assist in the opening and closing of a retail location which includes but is not limited to cash handling and deposits.
· Inform customers about services available and assess customer needs.
· Examine products being purchased for damages and price accuracy.
· Resolve escalated issues with customers.
· Train and sometimes supervise new cashiers or retail workers.
· Assist in the maintenance of store front and retail displays.
· Complete, process, and maintain applicable paperwork and records.
· Count the cash in the drawer at the end of the day ensuring cash equals receipts.
Requirements:
· Previous work experience as a Host/Hostess or Waiter/Waitress preferred
· Understanding of restaurant etiquette
· Familiarity with health and safety regulations
· Experience in managing reservations, OpenTable experience preferred
· Demonstrable customer-service skills
· Excellent communication skills (via phone and in-person)
· Strong organizational skills with the ability to monitor the entire dining area
· Availability to work weekends, holidays and late nights
· Good physical condition to walk and stand during an entire shift
