The ideal candidate will be passionate about leading and working outdoors on beautiful properties, mentoring and collaborating with crew members. Our crews engage in regenerative landscaping practices, including soil enhancement, plant care (weeding, pruning, transplanting), new plantings, hardscape installation and maintenance, and long-term landscape stewardship.
As a TGC Crew Leader, you'll be more than just a gardener—you'll wear many hats: Worker, Driver, Supervisor, Trainer, and Leader. You'll lead a team of gardeners of all levels in regenerative landscape practices. At The Garden Continuum, we support our Crew Leaders with comprehensive training to ensure your success in every aspect of the role. Responsibilities
- Effectively lead and guide team members in daily operations, promoting a collaborative and supportive work environment.
- Professionally engage with clients in person and via email, ensuring clear, courteous, and responsive communication.
- Accurately document job tasks and materials, ensuring precise data submission for client invoicing.
- Adhere to all safety protocols while driving and encourage careful use and maintenance of tools by all crew members.
- Navigate and perform effectively in diverse and highly gardened environments, providing individualized care tailored to each garden’s unique characteristics.
- Stay committed to ongoing learning and professional development, applying new plant identification and care strategies.
- Participate in project installations based on skill sets and interests, including site work, grading, drainage, hardscape and/or plant installation, mulching, and landscape rescue operations.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years experience in professional fine gardening, landscape maintenance, or landscape installation with previous supervisory experience.
- A deep respect for diverse gardens and plant varieties, with a strong interest in environmental sustainability and ecosystem management.
- Confident and safe driver with experience in operating various tools and equipment.
- Proven ability to lead and guide team members effectively and kindly in daily operations.
- Skilled in accurately documenting job tasks and materials for invoicing and project tracking.
- Background in professional landscaping with a keen appetite for continued learning and skill development.
- Experience working in diverse and highly gardened environments, providing individualized care for unique garden settings.
- Ability to excel in written and verbal communication, with the ability to interact with clients kindly and manage relationships effectively.
- Exceptional organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to proficiently work with the Google Suite, email using TGC conventions, photo management, text and phone proficiency.
- Intermediate proficiency in Fine Gardening best practices and décor planting and care skills, intermediate pruning skills.
- Ability to handle various tasks and projects flexibly and collaboratively.
Physical Requirements:
- Manual: Ability to use office equipment, including computers, phones, and printers, as well as field assessment tools like levels, laser levels, measuring taps, etc.
- Physical Stamina: Estimating requires time on project sites that may require walking, hiking, digging, and or moving and lifting heavy objects.
- Outdoor Work: Comfort with working outdoors in various weather conditions when engaging in site analyses, project assessments, and vendor and subcontractor consultations.
- Indoor Work: Ability to sit at a desk, work at a computer, lean over designs, read small print, and research resources to develop estimates, sometimes requiring considerable inside work.
- Visual Acuity: Ability to distinguish colors and details for accurate work in deciphering plans, noticing the conditions of each site daily, choosing materials, and communicating written notes to the management team.
