We are seeking an Electromagnetic Spectrum (EMS) Future Plans / Policy Coordinator to support the Department of Defense (DoD) in managing and optimizing the use of the electromagnetic spectrum. The ideal candidate will work in a high-stakes, fast-paced environment, collaborating with key stakeholders across multiple government agencies, military services, and international partners to enhance the effectiveness of the DoD's EMS operations.
In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating the development of forward-thinking strategies, policies, and assessments related to the electromagnetic spectrum. You will focus on integrating emerging spectrum theories, concepts, and technologies to solve communications challenges that cannot be addressed by traditional methods. Your efforts will directly support the DoD's ability to deploy advanced capabilities to warfighters in joint, coalition, and allied operations.
Responsibilities :
- Collaborate with key agencies and stakeholders, including DoD, Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), Department of State (DoS), Joint Staff, Federal Communications Commission (FCC), Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Combatant Commands (COCOMs), service branches, OASD (NII), multi-national coalition partners, and NATO.
- Engage in comprehensive assessments and evaluations of the electromagnetic spectrum (EMS) program's goals, objectives, and performance to inform long-range strategic planning and ensure the command's future capabilities are optimized.
- Provide expert analysis and recommendations for the development and refinement of EMS-related policies and strategies, focusing on enhancing spectrum management and addressing complex communications problems in joint, coalition, and allied military operations.
- Utilize cutting-edge spectrum theories, concepts, and technologies to develop innovative solutions for communications challenges in operational environments.
- Support the identification of emerging EMS needs and future operational requirements, working closely with relevant stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of new capabilities.
- Contribute to the preparation and delivery of reports, assessments, and briefings as required, particularly in the context of policy development and planning.
- Manage and maintain required documentation and deliverables, including those outlined, ensuring compliance with all relevant DoD regulations and policies.
