Structural Steel Fitter/Fabricator
Well Established structural steel shop that has been in business for 40 years is looking for a Fitter/Fabricator employee. The company specializes in specialty structural steel jobs and performs basic structural steel work as well.
Hours Monday – Thursday, 6:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. with ½ hour lunch break.
If we work overtime, it is usually on Friday from 6:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. (8 hours)
Mandatory overtime will be required on Saturday if there is an equipment breakdown.
Competitive salary based on experience.
Holidays and insurance are available after 90 days.
Employer will pay a portion of the insurance costs.
401k available after 6 months with employer year-end match based on profitability.
Employee will not start at full pay scale. Starting salary will be discussed at the time of hire. A merit raise will be considered after 90 days and will be based on performance AND attendance.
There will also be a merit raise or percentage raise at the end of the year. There is also the possibility of a year-end bonus. Employee must have a full twelve (12) months employment to receive a full share of the bonus dollars. If employment is less than twelve (12) months, the first-year bonus will be prorated using the number of months employed.
Duties:
- Perform fit-up/tacking together structural steel details to make beams, columns, frames, plate work, and stairs. Handrail experience a plus.
- Must have knowledge and experience in interpreting blueprints per material size, dimensions, and weld symbols
- Must be able to operate a welding machine, pneumatic grinder, and overhead crane

Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 48 per week
