Shift: Full Time typically working 8a - 5 p Mon - Fri.
Key Responsibilities of the Life Enrichment Coordinator:
1. Activity Planning & Execution
• Design and implement activity programs that cater to the cognitive, physical, emotional, and social needs of residents.
• Utilize Geriatric Montessori principles to create age-appropriate, purposeful activities that promote engagement and independence.
• Collaborate with care partners and families to tailor activities to individual residents’ preferences and abilities.
2. Resident Engagement
• Foster relationships with residents to understand their interests and ensure active participation in activities.
• Encourage residents’ involvement in group and individual activities while respecting personal preferences and limitations.
• Support residents in discovering or rediscovering hobbies that bring them joy and fulfillment.
3. Team Collaboration
• Work closely with care partners, nurses, and family members to create an integrated care plan that prioritizes resident well-being.
• Train care partners on incorporating Montessori-inspired techniques into daily interactions and activities.
• Demonstrate respect, collaboration, and open communication to enhance the team environment.
4. Continuous Improvement
• Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in geriatric care and activity programming.
• Incorporate resident and family feedback to enhance activity offerings.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and training aligned with The Geneva Suites’ core value of continuous education.
5. Safety & Compliance
• Ensure all activities are conducted in a safe environment, adhering to The Geneva Suites’ standards and state regulations.
• Monitor residents during activities to ensure their safety and well-being.
• Maintain and organize activity supplies and equipment responsibly.
Qualifications of the Life Enrichment Coordinator:
• Experience in activity planning, preferably in senior care or a related field.
• Knowledge of Geriatric Montessori principles (training will be provided for the right candidate).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with residents, families, and team members.
• Creative, compassionate, and patient, with a genuine passion for working with seniors.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant certifications or degree in gerontology, recreational therapy, or a related field preferred.
Physical Requirements of the Life Enrichment Coordinator:
• Ability to move or transport activity supplies and assist residents as needed.
• Comfortable working in a residential care environment.
