The GEO Group is seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our accounting department. As a key member, you will be responsible for gathering, maintaining, reconciling, and accruing account receivables and revenue information.
Responsibilities:
- Calculate account receivable accruals from each facility on a monthly basis.
- Gather invoices from the field and enter data into the financial information system and accounts receivable spreadsheets.
- Verify monthly billing against contracted per diem rates for accuracy.
- Gather lockbox deposits, collect documentation from bank wires, code, and enter information into the financial information system. Apply payments to specific invoices.
- Reconcile accruals, invoices, and payments with Business Managers, and collect proper documentation from the field to issue bill adjustments.
- Closed accounts receivable sub-ledger monthly, ensuring all balances reconcile with the general ledger.
- Maintain spreadsheets of account receivables, revenue, and other accounts (as assigned) to ensure proper tracking and reconciliation.
- Compile, summarize, and provide necessary reports of activities as needed.
- Ensure all work complies with Sarbanes Oxley procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or finance with two (2) years progressive experience in accounting.
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures applied in an accounts receivable function.
- Good analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve typical questions and issues that arise as a result of completing daily work activities.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to interact with Business Manager and others to resolve questions and problems.
- Ability to produce reports in a clear and concise manner.
- Ability to work with computers and the necessary software used by the department typically including the Financial Information System (FIS), spreadsheets, and word processing.
Pay: $28.84 - $31.25 per hour
