Job Description Summary :
The George Washington University Elliott School of International Affairs (ESIA) is one of the world’s leading schools of international affairs and one of the largest schools of international affairs in the United States. The Elliott School seeks a dynamic and motivated individual to serve as Program Coordinator for Academic Operations to support curriculum review and development, program assessments, course evaluations, academic scheduling, and program coordination with the ESIA Academic Programs team and Dean’s Office. The Program Coordinator reports to the Assistant Director, Academic Programs.
The Academic Programs team engages with current and prospective students, builds collegial relationships with internal team members, and works closely with faculty, directors, and staff throughout ESIA and key university offices. The Program Coordinators collaborate, cross-train, and support each other’s programs as needed.
This role will serve as a point of contact for the assigned programs, will answer typical program questions, and will assist the program faculty with a variety of functional and administrative support. Typical duties often are administrative in nature including tasks that are routine, and under the general supervision of more senior personnel within the department, or program.
Specific responsibilities include :
Curriculum Review and Development
- First point of contact for Bulletin and Courseleaf edits for ESIA, submitting edits to and collaborating with the central Academic Editor with support from the Assistant Director of Academic Programs.
- Reviews annual Bulletin edits in accordance with university and federal accreditation policies to better guide students, programs, and faculty.
- Manages course and program records in Courseleaf, including major codes, curriculum maps, syllabi, and student learning objectives.
- Prepares communication materials for annual Bulletin review for all undergraduate and graduate programs at ESIA.
- Manages Seven-year Assessment Program Reviews (APRs).
Academic Scheduling and Operations
Performs other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
This is a hybrid position with some days in-person in Washington, DC and some days remote.

Minimum Qualifications :
Qualified candidates will hold a high school diploma / GED plus 3 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant area of study. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
