Gerken Materials is currently hiring a full time Dredge Operator for our sand and gravel operation in Jonesville, MI.
Duties and responsibilities include:
- Operating a floating clamshell dredge.
- Performing general maintenance on equipment (greasing, cleaning, filling out inspection reports, etc.)
- Working with other employees to perform general dredge maintenance, repairs, and other work where needed.
- Operating other types of equipment on the property such as a skid steer, fuel truck, water truck, haul truck, work boat, etc.
- Working efficiently to meet production goals.
- Working safely while following safety rules and MSHA regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience operating heavy equipment helpful.
- Mechanical experience helpful.
- Appropriate communication and customer service skills necessary to effectively interact with customers, employees, and other guests to the property.
- Willingness to learn, having a positive attitude, and being a team player highly desired.
- Ability to work mandatory overtime (including Saturdays) when needed.
