Wage : Starts at $26 per hour

The Glen at Scripps Ranch is now hiring a Maintenance Tech II. The Maintenance Tech II person is responsible for maintaining all aspects of the physical plant. Maintenance Tech II performs preventive maintenance, routine servicing, seasonal repairs and changes, building equipment and plumbing repairs.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES :
Working as a team with the entire Plant Operations Department, the Maintenance Tech II performs general maintenance duties, preventive maintenance, service calls, and emergency maintenance as needed and assigned.
Performs building and equipment repairs, with moderate plumbing and electrical, and some carpentry.
Completes apartment turnovers, including minor repairs, touchup painting, and restoring the apartment to the original condition.
Performs regular pool, koi pond, and lake maintenance.
Continues to perform minor repairs, painting, and similar duties that may be assigned to a Maintenance Tech I, but is faster and more proficient compared to Maintenance Tech I levels and requires only moderate oversight and direction.
Instructs residents on how to use their thermostats. May assist with HVAC systems including pumps, heaters, and cooling towers.
Provides excellent customer service to residents as demonstrated by doing the following :
Assigned one week of on-call duty as scheduled
Conducts staff training related to safety items as scheduled by the Supervisor or Plant Operations Director.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS :
High school graduate. Technical schooling and / or training preferred.
Minimum of three to five years of previous work experience with electrical, plumbing, painting, and other general maintenance duties in a complex commercial, industrial or healthcare setting.
Ability to read and understand basic blueprints and schematics.
Basic understanding of HVAC thermostats.
Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simple arithmetic.
Must have a passion for excellent customer service.
