Starting at $21.00 - $26.00 per hour / Full-Time / 3:30 p.m. - 12:00 a.m. Shift
We are hiring a Hotel Maintenance Technician dedicated to providing routine and preventative maintenance to protect the assets of The Westgate Hotel and to keep the hotel running smoothly and to ensure a safe, quality guest experience. Classification: Non-Exempt
Reports to: Chief Engineer Manager
Responsibilities: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions:
- Maintain and repair all guest rooms in accordance with standards and guidelines set forth.
- Maintain HVAC filters in guest rooms.
- Maintain light bulbs in guest rooms and corridors.
- Maintain complete records of all work.
- Maintain daily log of all work completed.
- Maintain P.M. cart containing all necessary parts and materials.
- Respond to guest rooms calls within 10 minutes.
- Inform dispatch when room calls are completed.
- Successfully complete Training Certification and review all departmental safety information.
- Practice emergency procedures in compliance with hotel/ company standards to react and assist in any hotel emergency.
- Assist other departments by providing lateral service; perform all other related duties as assigned by a supervisor.
- Knowledge of mechanical locks: Mortise, Salto, electronic doors, sliding glass, entry hinges, by-fold doors, etc.TV, remotes, Chromecast, telephone, and computer systems, ,boiler room operations including steam and boiler controls. heating & cooling system including pneumatic and electric thermostats and valves, fire prevention equipment, extinguishers, alarm systems detector and pull station, sprinkler systems, fire pump, dry/wet systems.
- Basic knowledge of Emergency Generator and transfer switch, construction, sheet rock, suspended ceilings,
Safety Responsibilities:
- Protect, promote, and train safety of self, co-workers, and Westgate Hotel guests always.
- Promptly report any potentially harmful equipment or situations to the immediate manager
- Report safety-related accidents and incidents at once to immediate manager and appropriate department(s), following documented procedures.
- Follow all company and department safety policies and procedures as outlined in the Hotel’s Occupational Safety & Health Compliance Manual and department-specific procedures or manuals.
- Operate equipment in a safe manner that will not lead to injury to yourself or others.
- Drive in accordance with the law and Westgate Hotel policies.
Qualifications:
- Must be able to work varied shifts.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.
- At least 1-2 years of maintenance experience required.
- Ability to communicate effectively with our guest training and Exemplify Guest service standards.
- Demonstrate the highest level of professionalism when interacting with colleagues, customers, and vendors.
