Community Consolidated School District 89 is seeking several subs for our Building Secretaries throughout our District schools.
Job Summary : As a substitute secretary you would assist the principal as facilitator for the school / public being served with simple problem solving, daily communications, and acting as the initial contact with most staff and visitors for the school on an individual day while representing the district by demonstrating courtesy, respect, and enthusiasm.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities : Other duties may be assigned.
- Makes simple daily decisions and demonstrates actions that support the mission, vision, goals, and interests of the district and of students. Communicates, collaborates, and cooperates with colleagues, supervisors, staff, parents, and students.
- Receive all staff and visitors in a manner which indicates knowledge of school district policies and procedures.
- Maintains office processes and procedures including responding to in-coming telephone calls, monitoring the building front door, copying materials for the principal and staff as needed, distribution of approved notices and agendas.
- Generally, keep the office in good working order while the permanent secretary is out; making sure to keep clear and concise notes for their return.
- Perform any other duties as may be requested by the building administration.
Supervisory Responsibilities : This job has no supervisory responsibilities. If designated by the principal, delegates work assignments to other office staff and supervises their job performance.
