BASIC FUNCTION
The Investment Specialist position administers and monitors the status of Trust investment and Custody fixed income accounts according to parameters established by the Investment and Administrative Officers. The Investment Specialist position communicates trade requests to various brokers, monitors the settlement of those trades, and documents the completion of these efforts. The Investment Specialist position creates documents and tools to illustrate investment strategies and trends.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- denotes an essential function of the job.
- Administer and monitor Trust investment and Custody fixed income accounts according to parameters established by the Investment and Administrative Officers.
- Direct the fixed income trading function, including researching investment vehicles, initiating trade requests with various brokers, monitoring the settlement for those trades, and compiling the analytics on the performance of the various investment vehicles.
- Security set up, monitor trade / confirm system, complete manual trading, monitor exceptions, communicate with mutual fund team, communicate with separately managed account (SMA) vendor, coordinate with broker settlement teams, post trades, clear trading house accounts, prepare and process manual option trading.
- Corporate Actions : process mandatory actions, review, submit, and process voluntary actions, maintain consistent communication with the custodian, and review and engage with proxy service for correct basis reporting.
- Unique Assets : set up unique assets, review, and update pricing / basis for client holdings internally and with outside managers, communicate with fund manager teams, process calls and distributions, and maintain liability commitments for each client investment.
- Update operational, tax, fiduciary, investment, and compliance staff within the company regarding changes in investment tools in general or specific to a particular client, as well as clients, attorneys, and other external contacts.
- Develop documents and tools to illustrate investment strategies and trends.
- Review investment processes for all assets held by the Company to ensure compliance and assess risk through risk management resources.
- Implement updates and changes to the Company’s portfolio management system, in conjunction with the Chief Investment Officer.
- Answer questions from the investment team and resolve problems, escalating items beyond specified authority to appropriate parties.
- Attend professional development initiatives as appropriate.
- Attend Company and industry-related meetings, as required.
- Establish individual goals aligned with the Company's business strategies and objectives.
- Perform other duties, including special projects, as assigned by executive leadership.
