Equipment Operator – Returns
Blue Ridge Summit, PA
Globe Pequot Publishing Group is seeking a full-time equipment operator for the Returns Department of our distribution center, National Book Network. Qualified candidates will be required to drive electric-powered industrial trucks equipped with lifting devices to move products, equipment, or materials throughout the warehouse.
Responsibilities
- Moves levers and presses pedals to drive electric pallet jacks, reach trucks, standing forklifts, and order pickers.
- Positions forks, lifting platforms, or other lifting devices under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials.
- Unloads and stacks material by raising and lowering the lifting devices.
- Inventories materials on the work floor and supplies workers with materials as needed.
- Loads or unloads materials onto or from pallets, skids, or lifting devices.
- Understands and performs equipment safety checks prior to operating equipment.
- Reports any equipment irregularities to the supervisor immediately.
- Follows all safety regulations and helps maintain a safe workplace.
- Must complete and maintain OSHA-approved equipment certification.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Minimum of 6 months operating some or all the equipment listed above.
- Ability to read and understand instructions, perform basic math computations, and problem-solve or troubleshoot issues that arise.
- Start and complete assignments in a timely, unsupervised manner.
- Must be able to work with an RF Scanner
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Must be willing to be cross trained in other duties within the department/warehouse, which may require climbing stairs (working on the mezzanine).
Physical Requirements
Must have the capability to lift up to 50 lbs. and can stand or walk for long periods of time on a concrete floor or on equipment. Must have the ability to bend, stretch, reach, push, pull, and stoop. (Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.)
Hours: Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week (overtime as needed) 7:00 am-3:30 pm
