Seeking Enthusiastic Restaurant Team Members
Job Purpose:
- Serve patrons by providing information to help food and beverage selections;
- Presentation of ordered choices;
- Maintenance of dining ambiance.
Duties:
- Clothing tables and setting decorations, condiments, candles, napkins, service plates, and utensils for dining room preparation;
- Protection of establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies;
- Assistance in selecting food and beverages by presenting menu; offering cocktails and aperitifs; suggesting courses; explaining the chef's specialties; identifying appropriate wines; answering food preparation questions;
- Transmission of orders to bar and kitchen by recording patrons' choices; identifying patrons' special dietary needs and special requests;
- Kitchen staff notification by noting timing of meal progression;
- Serving orders by picking up and delivering patrons' choices from bar and kitchen; delivering accompaniments and condiments from service bars;
- Response to additional patron requirements by inquiring of needs; observing dining process;
- Maintenance of table setting by removing courses as completed; replenishing utensils; refilling water glasses; being alert to patron spills or other special needs;
- Conclusion of dining experience by acknowledging choice of restaurant; inviting patrons to return;
- Obtainment of revenues by totaling charges; issuing bill; accepting payment; delivering bill and payment to cashier; returning change or credit card and signature slip to patrons;
- Contribution to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Required qualifications:
- Legally authorized to work in the United States;
Preferred qualifications:
- 1 year of experience in the food & restaurant industry;
- 16 years or older;
- Reliable transportation to and from work;
- Restaurant front of house skills: front counter;
- Restaurant front of house skills: running food;
- Restaurant front of house skills: hosting;
- Restaurant front of house skills: bussing tables;
- Restaurant front of house skills: serving in fine dining;
- Restaurant front of house skills: point of sale (POS) operation;
- Retail skills: point of sale (POS) operation;
- Retail skills: customer service;
- Comfortable handling customer complaints.
