The premier gluten-free bakery seeking an energetic person to join our team as a Bakery Manager. As the Bakery Manager, you will work with the owner and executive pastry chef to set and assign daily tasks to staff, ensure positive customer interactions, manage supplies and reordering, work front counter, light pastry decorations, counter/display set up and breakdown, light cleaning, customer service and assist with wholesale order packaging. This is a supervisory position, meaning that candidates must have at least two (2) years of experience in a bakery, preferably in a leadership position. You must have excellent organizational and communication skills, and you should be able to foster an environment of cooperation and teamwork among staff, in this growing bakery.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Work with owner and executive pastry chef to assign daily tasks to staff
- Monitor supply levels and reorder as necessary
- Light decorating and set up of counter and maintain all day
- End of the day breakdown and clean up of counter
- Ensure that the bakery is adequately stocked with quality gluten-free baking ingredients and supplies
- Ensure that baking tools, utensils, and equipment are properly cleaned and sanitized
- Inspect bakery items to ensure that established standards on quality, uniformity, and aesthetic appeal are met
- Resolve customer complaints in a professional manner
Requirements and Qualifications
- Two years of professional experience in a bakery
- Detailed knowledge of every role within a high-volume bakery environment
- Strong organizational and administrative skills
- Proficiency with Google Sheets and Docs
- Knowledge of food allergies, gluten-free, dairy-free, nut-free, etc.
- High school diploma or GED
- The ability to work under pressure, take direction and community clearly
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- ServSaf or other food handler certificate or willingness to obtain one
- Use hands or fingers, to cut, handle, or feel objects, equipment, or controls.
- Ability to stand, bend, stoop or walk up to 10 hours per day.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
