Key Responsibilities:
1. After School Teacher Duties:
- Supervise children, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote learning and creativity, such as arts and crafts, STEM activities, games, and group projects.
- Assist with homework (if needed) and provide support to children who need additional academic help.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with parents regarding children's behavior, progress, and needs.
- Help foster positive social interactions among children, promoting teamwork, respect, and cooperation.
- Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe environment.
2. Summer Camp Teacher Duties:
- Lead and facilitate fun, engaging, and educational camp activities for children ages 5-9, including outdoor games, arts and crafts, sports, and walking field trips.
- Develop a weekly schedule of activities that aligns with the camp’s themes and educational goals.
- Create a safe and supportive environment for children to explore, socialize, and learn.
- Ensure children’s physical and emotional safety during all activities, both indoors and outdoors.
- Collaborate with other camp staff to create a positive and inclusive atmosphere for all children.
- Provide feedback to parents regarding their child’s progress, behavior, and accomplishments during camp.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required; associate or bachelor's in Early Childhood Education preferred
- Child Development Associate (CDA) preferred
- 1-2 years of previous experience working with young children in a licensed childcare or preschool setting preferred
- Develops relationships and communicate effectively with children, parents, and faculty members
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children
