Responsibilities (Lead and Assistant Teachers for Infant, Toddler, Preschool and PreK Classrooms):
- Establish and maintain a safe, healthy and nurturing learning environment
- Ensure that children are always within state ratio requirements
- keeping children within sight and sound supervision at all times
- changing children’s diapers and/or assist in toileting (where necessary)
- Advance children’s physical and intellectual competence
- Support each child’s social and emotional development and provide positive guidance
- Establish positive and effective family relations
- Ensure an effective program, responsive to children’s needs
- Maintain professional commitment
Qualifications (Must meet one or more of the following criteria):
- A Bachelor’s Degree or a CDA in early childhood education with at least one-year previous lesson planning experience preferred; OR
- At least 20 semester credits or 30 quarter credits in early childhood education with at least one-year previous lesson planning experience preferred; OR
- At least One full year prior teaching experience in a licensed/certified preschool setting with lesson planning experience required; OR
- At least 10 semester credits or 15 quarter credits in early childhood education with at least 6 full months of experience in a licensed/certified preschool setting including lesson planning experience required; OR
- Documentation of attaining at least Step 8 in Oregon registry.
- Applicants with fewer qualifications will be conmsidered for Assistant teacher or aid positions.
