Seeking professionals who are interested in providing great customer service and experience while working in a fun outdoor environment. The position of Canopy Guide is an hourly part-time or full-time seasonal position. Canopy Guides are responsible for a one-of-a-kind guest experience.
Guides must have a positive attitude, team-oriented mindset, excellent communication skills and be able to focus on safety.

Position Description
Zipline Canopy Tour Guides are responsible for providing excellent customer service while leading guests through a 3.5-hour zipline canopy tour for a one-of-a-kind guest experience. Guides will lead up to 2 tours per day and will work 3-6 days per week depending on the season. CPR and First Aid training are preferred; Wilderness First Responder (WFR) certification is great!
All guides will undergo an intensive, in-house training following ACCT standards. Pay dependent upon experience and certifications.
Essential Job Functions include but not limited to:
- Will work alongside a co-guide throughout tour
- Ensure course operations are conducted in accordance with The Gorge’s safety
standards
- Fit harnesses and helmets correctly and supervise the use of the equipment
- Provide excellent customer service to all guests at The Gorge
- Clear communication with co-guide, outpost staff, and management in person and
using radios
- Deliver participant ground school instructions on proper zipping procedure
- Monitor guests’ ability to follow procedure throughout trip, and deliver additional
instruction as needed
- Facilitates guests’ experience while on tour
- Perform technical rescues as needed
- Ongoing assessment/management of risk in dynamic conditions
- Inspect all personal protective equipment (PPE) prior to and after use
- Complete post-trip paperwork
- The ability to perform work at heights over 50 feet
- Able to stand and walk outside for 8 hours in all weather conditions
- Able to walk or hike in uneven terrain
- Able to pull guests onto platforms along a steel cable
- Must be able to climb a ladder
- Must have a flexible schedule with full availability on the weekends and holiday
- All staff are required to maintain excellent hygiene and maintain a professional
appearance
