The primary function of this position will be to plan and coordinate logistics activities to ensure that on time shipments are met in a compliant and customer centric manner. It is important that this position has the goal of improving logistics efficiency and supporting the manufacturing needs.
Duties:
- Utilizes WMS to prepare shipments for the warehouse. This includes the ability to troubleshoot issues as they occur.
- Prepares documentation, maintains records, and coordinates logistics for product shipments based on customer requirements.
- Works directly with carriers to coordinate all outbound and inbound shipments.
- Works directly with customers to coordinate deliveries / queries.
- Selects carriers for shipments based on rates and customer requirements.
- Generates BOL, packing slips, and International paperwork (commercial invoices, NAFTA forms, Shippers Letter of Intent (SLI), etc.
- Works in a fast-paced environment with the ability to multi-task.
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.
What will you bring to the table?
Education:
- High School education or equivalent
- Minimum 0-3 years’ logistics experience
- Must possess excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.
- Should be goal-oriented, confident, outgoing and able to work well under pressure and succeed within a competitive environment.
- Demonstrate good judgment.
- Must be able to work independently.
- General understanding and knowledge of the transportation industry.
- Experience with large retail routing systems is preferred.
- WMS system experience preferred.
- Lean manufacturing experience a plus.
- Strong computer skills are necessary including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
