Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Server to join our dynamic team. As a Lead Server, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the dining area, leading a team of servers, ensuring high service standards, and maintaining guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, motivate, and train a team of servers to ensure efficient and professional service.
- Greet and interact with guests to ensure their needs are met and expectations exceeded.
- Maintain a deep knowledge of menu items, specials, and beverages, and be able to make recommendations to guests.
- Handle customer complaints and concerns with professionalism, aiming to resolve issues to the guests' satisfaction.
- Ensure that the dining area is clean, organized, and properly set up before, during, and after service.
- Train new servers, providing guidance on customer service standards, product knowledge, and company policies.
- Monitor server performance and provide feedback to improve service quality.
- Assist in the preparation and organization of opening and closing duties.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff and management to ensure smooth operations.
- Ensure that all food safety, cleanliness, and health regulations are followed.
- Manage guest reservations and special requests.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a server, with at least 1-2 years of experience in a lead or supervisory role.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- In-depth knowledge of food and beverage offerings, including wine and cocktail pairings.
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to anticipate guest needs.
- Ability to work well under pressure and maintain a positive attitude.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the dining area for extended periods of time (up to 8 hours).
- Ability to lift and carry heavy trays, food, and beverage orders (up to 25 pounds).
- Ability to bend, squat, and reach in order to serve guests and retrieve items from shelves or storage areas.
- Comfortable working in a busy, fast-paced environment with high noise levels.
- Good physical stamina and mobility to efficiently serve a high volume of customers throughout shifts.
Additional Requirements:
- Food handler certification (or ability to obtain certification within a specified time).
- Ability to work as part of a team and adapt to changing priorities and tasks.
