Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Cashier to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for opening or closing, cash handeling, overseeing the cash register operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, and leading a team of cashiers in a fast-paced grocery store environment.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily operations at the cash register area, ensuring smooth and efficient transactions.
- Train and mentor new cashiers on POS systems( Toast), cash handling procedures, and customer service best practices.
- Maintain accurate cash drawer balances and perform regular audits to ensure compliance with company policies.
- Assist customers with inquiries, returns, and exchanges while promoting a positive shopping experience.
- Implement upselling techniques to maximize sales opportunities during checkout.
- Collaborate with management to manage stock levels and ensure the availability of necessary supplies at the registers.
- Uphold high standards of phone etiquette when addressing customer calls or inquiries.
- Handle escalated customer issues with professionalism and resolve conflicts effectively.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a cashier in restaurant
- Proficiency in operating cash registers and POS systems (Toast).
- Strong understanding of retail math for accurate transaction processing.
- Excellent communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to upsell products effectively during customer interactions.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a friendly demeanor.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
