POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Member Service Representative is responsible for delivering excellent service to all members, guests, and program participants. This position responds to member and guest needs, promotes memberships and programs, and maintains cleanliness and organization of the lobby area.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Engage in positive interactions with members, as directed by supervisor, to accomplish the YMCA mission and goals.
- Provide excellent service to members, guests, and program participants in the Y and on the phone, contributing to member retention.
- Conduct Explore the Y Cause Driven tours and collaborate with Wellness Staff and Child Watch to communicate well-being opportunities to all members and guests.
- Build effective, authentic relationships with members; help members connect with each other and the YMCA.
- Handle and resolve membership concerns and inform supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues.
- Open/Close facility using assigned methods.
- Maintain the safety of all members when other managers are not present.
- Follow all YMCA procedures and policies when dealing with member services.
- Maintain all bathroom and coffee supplies, sweep parking lot and clean interior windows.
- Ensure overall facility cleanliness by supplementing contracted cleaning company efforts as directed by the supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be committed to and supportive of the Y mission.
- Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations from all social and economic segments of the community.
- Must have good verbal and written communication, as well as strong relationship building skills.
- Must demonstrate a high level of professionalism.
- High school graduate or equivalent required.
- Must obtain CPR/First Aid/AED Training within 30 days of hire if not already certified.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Preferred knowledge of, customer service, sales or related experience.
