POSITION SUMMARY:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Under the guidance of the Director of Membership, the Youth and Family Program Director will oversee the operations and facilitation of the Greater Kingsport Family YMCA Youth & Family Programming.
· Innovate & Grow: Introduce exciting new programs that’ll add value to YMCA memberships and take our youth and family services to the next level.
· Directs, Supervises, Develops and Organizes monthly family program events for our members of all ages. These programs add value to our members, community and sense of belonging.
· Monitors and evaluates program growth and all aspects that support success (process, quality, strategy, relationships and training) to impact member retention.
· Communicates program information, registration information, schedules effectively and consistently, Reviews and updates all Member Programming procedures and communicates changes to staff. Develop strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
· Organizes and schedules events for youth programming: ex. Father Daughter Dance, Parents Night Out and Mini Explorers. Manage and schedule all facilities and areas needed for programming.
· Recruit, Orient, Supervise, Train, Evaluate and Reward staff and volunteers in Child Watch, Adventure Kids, Mini Explorers, and all Membership (adult & youth) Programming to ensure that performance is meeting and/or exceeding expectations.
· Oversee and conduct ongoing program member evaluations and surveys to ensure outcomes align with the needs of the community and the YMCA strategic plan.
· Promote the recruitment of new members and retention of existing members.
· Create and sustain a culture of membership satisfaction reflected in all staff delivering on current and evolving member needs and expectations.
· Provides support to Member Programming Staff with daily operations, including but not limited to the following; supervision, training and problem resolution to maintain successful and accurate operation.
· Manage Budgets: Develops and controls budgets related to the position and ensures program operates within budget, including proformas and cost analysis. Manage payrolls for all departments assigned.
· Community Connection: Build and maintain relationships and attend events within the community to secure support and represent for the YMCA
· Community Events: Healthy Kids Day (Manage and implement branch special events associated with all related program areas).
· Marketing: Plan, promote and develop new activities to keep members engaged.
· Develops and maintains positive relationships with children, parents, co-workers and volunteers, while maintaining confidentiality of information related to parents and children. Respond to all parents, members and community inquiries in a timely manner.
· Communicates upkeep of equipment, furniture and facility with Property Manager to maintain a safe and clean environment.
· Responsible for scheduling and working shifts with all member programming.
· Leads program specific meetings and conducts quarterly staff meetings.
· Participate in annual fundraising campaigns.
· Knowledge and execution of emergency procedures
· Attend and contribute to all staff meetings and in service training.
· Maintain the safety of all members when other managers are not present.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· Committed to and supportive of the Y mission.
· Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays based upon needs of the YMCA.
· A desire to lead with passion, positivity and a commitment to making a difference.
· Two (2) years of experience in management and youth services.
· Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
· Excellent relationship building, written and oral communication, organizational and time management skills.
· Ability to multi-task, take initiative, be enthusiastic, solve problems and work under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude.
· Demonstrate a high level of professionalism, a growth- mindset and innovation.
· Obtain CPR/First Aid/AED training within 90 days of hire.
