Assistant Director of Programs
JOB DESCRIPTION
General Description:
The Greeley Dream Team turns dreams into reality. We work with a diverse student population building relationships. We mentor, empower and educate today’s youth to transition to college and become tomorrow’s leaders.
The Assistant Director of Programs oversees our pre-collegiate programming and supervises the Academic Advisors providing program services across four high schools, four middle schools, and six K8 schools in Greeley/Evans School District 6. Primary pre-collegiate programming consists of two Educational Talent Search (ETS) programs (ETS and ETS West) that are federally funded and create educational opportunities for low-income, first-generation students while providing access to higher education and assisting in the transition to college. Program services include group and individual counseling, academic advising and support, exposure to career and educational opportunities, and enrichment events.
The Assistant Director of Programs for The Greeley Dream Team is responsible for assisting the Executive Director in program planning; supervising and monitoring of pre-collegiate program services provided at each of the targeted schools; evaluation and academic program development; and providing administrative and leadership support to Academic Advisors. The Assistant Director of Programs also supports the Executive Director in the implementation of the mission and goals of The Greeley Dream Team.

Responsibilities:
PROGRAM PLANNING
- Provide leadership in developing academic workshop curriculum and support, student events, trips, and summer programs.
LEADERSHIP AND TRAINING
- Directly supervise Academic Advisors and Program Coordinator.
- Prepare and oversee weekly staff meetings.
- Oversee grant initiatives and best practices.
- Provide guidance, mentoring and job shadowing for academic advisors.
- Oversee and supervise pre-collegiate program Advisors’ daily and monthly work goals.
- Monitor Advisor progress towards meeting program objectives and grant goals.
- Providing training for professional development opportunities.
- Develop and conduct new-hire training.
MONITOR & DOCUMENT
- Monitor the progress toward accomplishment of program objectives and oversee documentation of all aspects of project activity.
- Responsible for Annual Performance Reporting
REPORTS, DATA & CORRESPONDENCE
- Compile data and write reports documenting program outcomes and accomplishments.
- Compose correspondence and reports using a computer.
- Maintain two Blumen database systems and the accurate and secure records pertaining to Dream Team students’ program participation
MANAGEMENT & PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT
- Integral role in the development, management and evaluation of program objectives, administrative support and delegation of tasks
COMMUNITY RELATIONS
- Develop and maintain relationships between the program and community, including schools and post-secondary institutions.
- Plan and facilitate meetings with school personnel.
FIELD TRIPS & EVENTS
- Support annual events and activities as assigned.
- Field trip and event planning and support.

OTHER DUTIES
- Responsible for carrying out program goals.
- Participate in local, state, and national conferences as assigned.
- This position is highly visible to outreach where adherence to protocol, policies, and procedures is expected and of high priority.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in education, social work, counseling, or related field, required.
- Minimum two years’ experience supervising professional staff, required.
- Minimum two years’ experience with TRiO programs or similar pre-collegiate programs, including experience in interacting with secondary and post-secondary institutions and students, and documenting and reporting participant progress and accomplishments.
- Prior experience in developing, organizing, and implementing program goals and objectives.
- Prior experience with Blumen database, preferred.
- Prior experience in grant facilitation.
- Prior experience working with disadvantaged students.
- Self-motivated with a high level of customer service skill
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Demonstrated organizational, multi-tasking, and detail-oriented skills.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Scheduled day hours with some evenings and weekends will be required
Compensation/Benefits: This position offers the following:
- $59,000 - $65,000 annually, salary dependent upon qualifications
