What are the responsibilities and job description for the MDS Coordinator, RN position at The Greenhouse Cottages of Poplar Grove?
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and oversee the completion of the Minimum Data Set (MDS) assessments for all residents in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to gather necessary information for accurate and comprehensive assessments.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of MDS assessments, including accurate coding of diagnoses, procedures, and treatments.
- Review medical documentation to ensure completeness and accuracy for proper reimbursement.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of ICD-9, ICD-10, and DRG coding guidelines.
- Collaborate with physicians to obtain necessary medical information for accurate assessment completion.
- Participate in care planning meetings to provide input based on MDS assessments.
- Monitor and track resident progress and update assessments as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements related to MDS assessments.
Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10, and DRG coding guidelines.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, such as Point Click Care.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to analyze complex medical documentation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary team members.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
