Job Summary: 

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Pastry Sous Chef to join our culinary team. As a member of our bakery, you will assist in the preparation and production of a wide range of pastries, desserts, and baked goods. The candidate should be passionate about pastry arts, possess strong leadership skills, and demonstrate proficiency in managing a team in a fast-paced kitchen environment.


Role & Responsibilities

  • Assist in the creation and execution of pastry items including cakes, pastries, chocolates, bread, and desserts.
  • Ensure all products meet the highest standards of taste, appearance, and quality.
  • Oversee the baking and decorating of items, ensuring consistency and adherence to recipes.
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of pastry cooks and assistants.
  • Train new team members on pastry techniques, recipes, and kitchen procedures.
  • Manage inventory levels for pastry ingredients and supplies.
  • Place orders for ingredients, ensuring freshness and availability.
  • Conduct regular inspections of pastry products to maintain quality and consistency.
  • Address any issues promptly and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with Pastry Chef in developing new menu items and seasonal offerings.
  • Contribute creative ideas and innovations to enhance the pastry menu.
  • Adhere to all health and safety standards in food preparation and storage.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation and kitchen area.


Requirements & Physical Demands


  • Proven experience as a Pastry Sous Chef or similar role in a high-volume kitchen.
  • In-depth knowledge of pastry and baking techniques.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • A culinary degree or relevant certification is preferred.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
