Concrete Paving Foreperson
We are seeking a qualified Concrete Paving Foreperson to join our team in the Structures Division of H&K Group, Inc.
About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to work on heavy civil and highway construction projects as a leader of a carpentry crew. As a Concrete Paving Foreperson, you will be responsible for training and directing the activities of the crew, ensuring all work is completed safely and efficiently according to OSHA and H&K Safety policies.
Main Responsibilities:
* Reads blueprints and job-related documents to properly plan work
* Develops daily production goals and ensures all crew members know and buy into the plan
* Communicates with customer representatives and inspectors in a courteous and professional manner
* Performs all other duties of crew members as needed
* Proactively trains and mentors crew members to enhance their skills and knowledge
Key Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university OR one year of related experience and/or training
* Working knowledge and ability to safety and efficiently understand and direct carpentry crew
* Ability to read blueprints and job-related documents
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Demonstrated leadership ability
* Problem solving
Physical Demands:
* Regularly required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch or crawl
* Occasionally required to sit and lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Work Environment:
* Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions and high, precarious places
* Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles
