Job Overview
Reporting directly to the Paducah distribution facility Office Manager and Controller, the Division Accounts Payables Clerk will perform various accounts payable and financial reporting duties for the distribution facility’s payable vendors.
Responsibilities
- Prepare Invoices such as stamping, highlighting and figuring discounts
- Get receiving and match with invoices and check for differences
- Create credits/debits for all discrepancies on invoices
- Do expense invoices and give to each department head to approve
- Key all invoices after checked in AP system then file in correct date due
- Cut checks and prepare to be signed then stuff and file all paperwork in correct folders
- Weekly check of Lenior City invoices and match credits and file
- Researching of all in question deductions, invoices or assisting the buyers on issues
- Running monthly reports and listings of all AP and credits
- Clearing up any issues to intercompany invoices
Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to comprehend and communicate accounting terminology
- Ability to manage one’s own time with the help of supervision and to manage payment to vendors in a timely manner
- Active listening and critical thinking skills
- Personable and patient to be able to interact with and support other accounting staff members
- Strong computer skills including MS office, especially Excel
- Be a self-starter and take initiative, such as implementing more efficient processes
Experience and Education
- Preferrable to have 1-2 years of accounting or payable experience
- Experience using efficient Excel functionalities
