IMMEDIATE INTERVIEWS/OPENINGS
12-month Per Diem Positions:
Includes working 10-month academic year and 6-week summer session
Per diem staff schedules:
- Full-day position (hours/8:25 AM-2:40 PM) a minimum of 2 days per week
- Must choose from scheduled days determined by HLVS Administration
- Partial-day position: 5 days per week or Mon-Tues-Wed (hours/11:00 AM- 1:30 PM or 11:00 AM-2:40 PM)

Salary:
- $18.50 per hour (NYS Certified Teacher Assistants)
- $18.00 per hour (Teacher Aides)
This is an EXCITING and REWARDING opportunity to work in the field of special education and collaborate with teachers, other teacher aides/assistants and therapists. Great for college students or high school graduates seeking an academic school experience with special needs children. School year follows most school districts’ calendars.
- Must be a caring, compassionate person who is eager to work with 3-12 year-old students with developmental disabilities in a small (i.e., 6-12 students) classroom environment. Duties include working on social, emotional and academic development of students, and assisting children with personal care.
- Special Education classroom experience a plus.
- 12-month position includes: 10-month school calendar plus 6-week summer session.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Initial medical exam is required.
- Must be able to handle children weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Background clearances are required.
